Broke another endlink

The clunk from the rear was another broken swaybar endlink. I don’t know if the bushing failed and caused the bolt to break, or if the bolt broke and took the bushing with it.

Question, this picture was taken with full weight on the wheels, and the eyehole in the bar doesn’t quite line up with the endlink. Do you suppose my swaybar is bent?

Subaru? They eat end links like Shooter McGavin eats pieces of crap for breakfast.

Your bar is fine, the bar is just no longer resisting the movement of the spring and since its not under tension on one side its slightly out of alignment, I get the same effect when I disconnect/reconnect my front sway bar on my cruiser.

Yup, it’s my ‘98 Legacy. I’m tempted to buy some fancy pants Whiteline endlinks, but I’m afraid I’d just be consistently breaking $50 links instead of $18 links.

Whitelines are great. I never broke a set on my WRX, and I beat that car.

Yup. Bar is fine. I’ve busted the ears of a sway bar before and I’m inclined to think you would do the same before bending it (if it’s a hollow bar).

Those endlinks are a lot nicer looking than ours were in our ‘05 WRX (well, except for the broken part…). We’re still all stock— except for the new endlinks on the front and back last winter… they were bad… Rear bar is next as the bracket bushings are about dead (as is the bar…). They do all align a bit different when jacked up or on the wheels, so I could totally see it not quite matching while it’s down.

And our Kartboy’s are pretty nice (especially comparing to the stock… though that’s not saying much). Good service too as they forgot washers in the included bolt-baggie and got a new baggie-of-bolts/washers out right away, and even followed up that it got here a day or two later.
